Eduroam service
The main goal of eduroam service is to enable scientific and higher education communities to obtain access to a computer network in all the institutions participating in the project, both at home and abroad. The network can be accessed without the involvement of the local network administrator. Just start the device within the range of eduroam network and after a while you can use the Internet. Network access is obtained using the same credentials and access method as in the home institution. User authentication process is encrypted, which guarantees maximum security of network connectivity. No information on obtaining access to the network is publicly available. In the case of abuse of an authenticated user, administrators can explicitly determine its identity.
The project involves many universities and institutions and the list is still expanding. The current list of institutions is available on the Polish eduroam service site.
Eduroam service in Poland is being developed within the PIONIER. network. The operator for eduroam in Poland is Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Centre, while the coordinator is the University Computer Science Centre at Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun.
We encourage all educational, science and research institutions to cooperate with us.
